New Race Software, Sqorz
Mid Lancs BMX is one of the Clubs and Regions trying out the new race software from Sqorz, this may well become the replacement for the current BEM system as that developer is no longer actively maintaining the software.
Like anything else new, there is a learning (painful), process to go through in order to get everything up and running smoothly, however, this should only have an impact on the people responsible for running the software and have no negative outcomes for the races, with maybe a slight delay at the first race we use it, though we are trying hard to avoid this.
One of the exciting features of Sqorz, from a Riders perspective, is that you can see your results as soon as the Race is over online, similar to eBoard for those of you that race Regionals and Nationals. Sometimes is it obvious where you placed sometimes not, Sqorz takes the guesswork out of it. OK, this may be a slight exaggeration, the results will be available as soon as the finish line crew get the results to the cabin and the data can be imputed. However, if or when in the near future the Club starts to use transponders and Race timing, the results and times will be available straight after the race.
