Mid Lancs BMX

Round 3 of the new normal socially distanced COVID-19 BMX race series

This round was sponsored by Michelin Motorcycles we renamed the 17+ category to ‘Michelin masters’, this payback class saw 11 riders battling to the make the A final for a cash prize donated from Michelin.

BC rider Quillan Isadore took the top step on the podium with a win of £200, Matthew Gilston in 2nd with £150 & Joel Clarke in 3rd with £100 along with Joe Parr, Oliver Cope, Spencer Gibson, Ashton Cooper & Wad Agar all taking £50.

There was a whole load of goodies donated by DCR, RaceFX, Staystrong, N_Fuse sports & Nutrition, Apico factory racing and Leatt. These donations made goodie bags for the top 3 riders in all the A finals.

A huge thank you to DCR & Dylan Clayton at Hardknox for organising the donations and support on the day with the presentations.

The local constabulary dropped in for a COVID spot check and were over the moon to find the club had ticked all the boxes with risk assessments, track and trace & maintaining socially distanced pods for riders and spectators. They were really surprised with how well organised the event was.

A total of 110 riders attended which made for some great racing, with 2 semi-finals in 2 categories.

On a whole the event ran smoothly but this couldn’t happen without the planning and commitment from our committee and volunteers. We are pleased that as a club have got the kids and big kids 😉 racing again!
