BMX (Bicycle Motocross) is one of the fastest growing sports in the UK. It is one of the only sports where total family participation can take place. Riders of all ages (from 2 to 50+) can compete in organised race meets. The sport of BMX racing ranges from Club level right through to Regional, National and World Championship levels for all ages. BMX is also an Elite Olympic Sport!
Since the 2016 BMX season, the track has been redesigned and rebuilt, spotlights added to ensure all year round track usage, spectator embankment construction allowing for team and Club gazebos and all round race viewing. The addition of new Club infrastructure and facilities help with the implementation of our rider development program.
The new facility has generated significant interest in the BMX community Region wide. During a typical Club race there will be up to several hundred people in attendance, who then upload images to a significant number of websites and social media accounts. The Mid Lancs BMX Club is experiencing positive membership growth (currently in excess of 200 members). This potentially represents excellent advertising exposure and an excellent return on investment for sponsors; especially when you take into account social media engagement and the fact that many of our riders compete both Nationally and Internationally.
